WIDE AREA NETWORK. A physical or logical
network that provides data communications to a
larger number of independent users than are usually
served by a local area network (LAN) and is usually
spread over a larger geographic area than that of a
LAN. [WAN]
WIRE. An insulated conductor, with low resistance to current flow, that is either solid or stranded. [Wire Manufacturers]
WIRE BRAID. Flexible wire constructed of small size strands
in tubular form. Used for shielding or connections where
constant flexing is required.
