PHY Layer Connections
2mm Connectors
Non-Bus specific

2mm connectors are high density inter-connects used in a number of applications.
The three most common uses are with FutureBus, cPCI and VMEbus.
Although each of the different connector styles appear identical, there are a few differences.
Firstly the mating distance is different between Futurebus and the other two interface buses. VME and cPCI 2mm connectors use a mating distance of 12.50mm while Futurebus uses only 10mm. If the two different connector styles are combined in a single design, one connector will not completely mate with the other.
Secondly normal 2mm connectors have reversed pin sequences; for example a connector may count from [top-to-bottom] row 'A' to 'F'. While an identical appearing connector may count in reverse, from 'F' to 'A'. Although the two connectors will still mate up, pin 'A1' ends up interfacing to 'F1'.
