PHY Layer Connections
Future Bus
IEEE-896
The Future Bus specification is really a parallel bus and not a serial bus, but because the connector is almost the same as cPCI and cPCIe it's listed here. The matting pin height is different between Future Bus and the cPCI standards, and they will not mate together. Refer here for the main Future Bus page. Future Bus never saw wide spread adoption, so it's more common to design a cPCI system. The connector listed above is the back plane portion, while the board side would be a right angle.

Engineering editor note;
The odds your designing a board to interact with a Future Bus board are slim to none, so there is no reason to select a 2mm connector that indicates it is used with that interface standard. Be assured that the engineer designing the backplane or the engineer that upgrades the boards two years later will assume its a compactPCI connector and the board will no longer correctly mate with the backplane [if it ever did].
There are three different sets of 2mm connectors that look identical, be sure to select the correct one.
Of course from the graphic there are also pin tail lengths to consider. Also the mating pins are produced in a number of lengths, as in mate first or break first.
